【原创】有关个人电脑的英文表达（图）

个人电脑（personal computer/PC）指尺寸（size）、功能（capabilities）与原始销售价格（original sales price）适合个人（individual）使用的通用（general-purpose）计算机（computer）。它是由一个终端用户/最终用户（end user）操作（operate）的，不需要电脑操作人员（computer operator）。它可以是台式机（desktop computer）、笔记本（laptop computer）或平板电脑（tablet computer）。

目前最常见的操作系统（operating system/OS）包括微软视窗（Microsoft Windows）、Mac OS X与Linux。应用软件（software application/application software）包括字处理（word processing）、电子制表（spreadsheet）、数据库（database）、网络浏览器（web browser）、电子邮件客户端软件（email client）、游戏（game）以及众多的提高个人效率（personal productivity）和专用软件（special-purpose software）。还有与互联网（Internet）的高速（high-speed）或拨号（dial-up）连接（connection），以便访问（access）万维网（World Wide Web）及其它资源（resources）。

个人电脑可能是家庭用电脑（home computer），也可以是位于办公室（office），并常与局域网（LAN/local area network）相连。

从上世纪八十年代开始，微软公司（Microsoft）与英特尔公司（Intel）就控制了大部分个人电脑市场（market），它们联合生产的平台（platform）被称为Wintel【Windows与Intel的合写】。
