9.5. Oracle Network Manager
Oracle Network Manager, introduced inChapter 5, is an Oracle-supplied tool that allowsthe DBA to create and maintain the configuration files required bythe Oracle networking products SQL*Net and Net8. Oracle NetworkManager will configure the following products:
SQL*Net Version 2.0 and later, and Net8
Provides client-server and server-server communication.
MultiProtocol Interchange
Provides application connectivity across protocols.
Oracle Names
Provides name resolution services for SQL*Net and Net8.
SNMP
Enables the monitoring of network objects using third-party tools.
Oracle Advanced Networking Option (ANO)
Provides a variety of add-on features, including securityenhancements, DCE integration, native naming adapters, and SNMPsupport.
