Portal Type:

Parent portals are used when you have JUST A DOMAIN NAME that you want your site to be "bound" to.
These are examples of parent portals:
MySite.DNN4Free.com
Example.com
Child portals are used when you want to map to a SUBFOLDER. For example:
DNN4Free.com/MySite
Example.com/Test

Portal Alias:
THIS IS IMPORTANT
This is where you type in the alias that people use to get to your site.
DO NOT put in things like HTTP:// or it WILL NOT WORK.
These are GOOD aliases:
something.test.com (that's a parent portal)
www.DNN4Free.com/MySite (That's a child portal)
These are some BAD aliases:
http://www.MySite.com (That has a leading HTTP in it)
www.DNN4Free.com/MySite/
(NOTICE that this url ends with a '/' but the good one above does not.)
If you have your own domain name, you will need to point it at the IP address 216.58.230.200. We DO NOT provide DNS.
