The Meeting is held in close collaboration with the People's Republic of China and with the support of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
The meeting is the foremost global business gathering in Asia and provides a unique platform for leaders from business, government, media, academia and civil society to discuss the major actors and drivers of growth in the 21st century. Under the theme, Driving Growth through Sustainability, this year's programme will focus on issues relating to energy efficiency, lower carbon emissions, developing green technologies and building critical infrastructure to assure sustainable development and create a new context for growth.
Journalists wishing to cover this event must submit their accreditation request on the Forum's online registration website at www.weforummedia.org by Friday 27 August 2010. Please note that only applications submitted online and on time will be considered. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted, and no accreditation will be granted on site.
A select group of business leaders will act as mentors to the Annual Meeting of the New Champions. They are: Hari S. Bhartia, Co-Chairman and Managing Director, Jubilant Organosys, India; Vice-President, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII); Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Chairman of the Board, Nestlé, Switzerland; Eckhard Cordes, Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer, METRO, Germany; Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Infosys Technologies, India; James E. Rogers, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Duke Energy Corporation, USA; Cher Wang, Chairman, HTC-VIA, Taiwan, China; John S. Watson, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Chevron Corporation, USA; Wei Jiafu, Group President and Chief Executive Officer, China Ocean Shipping Group Co., People's Republic of China.
