神国的奥秘：只给种子，不给果实
《路加福音：8：4—15》记录了这样一个场面：
许多人聚集起来听耶稣讲道，耶稣就讲了一个撒种的比喻。后来，“门徒问耶稣说，这比喻是什么意思呢？（His disciples asked him what this parable meant）”
耶稣的回答出人意料：“神国的奥秘，只叫你们知道。至于别人，就用比喻，叫他们看也看不见，听也听不明。（The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that，‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand’）”
真理是讲给所有人听的，但不是所有人都应该得到真理，更不是所有人都能够得到真理的。
在真理面前，众生是平等的，但又是有区别的：平等，意味着真理要赋予所有人以机会；区别，意味着人不同的价值选择直接影响到他能否接受真理，及其接受真理的能力。
耶稣的比喻是这样的：
“有一个撒种的出去撒种。撒的时候，有落在路旁的，被人践踏，天上的飞鸟又来吃尽了；（A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up）有落在磐石上的，一出来就枯干了，因为得不着滋润；（Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture）有落在荆棘里的，荆棘一同生长，把它挤住了；（Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants）又有落在好土里的，生长起来，结实百倍。（Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown）”
耶稣明确告诉弟子：“这比喻乃是这样。种子就是神的道。”（This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God）
随后，耶稣详尽地解释了比喻内容。
“那些在路旁的，就是人听了道，随后魔鬼来，从他们心里把道夺去，恐怕他们信了得救；（Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved）那些在磐石上的，就是人听道，欢喜领受，但心中没有根，不过暂时相信，及至遇见试炼就退后了；（Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away）那落在荆棘里的，就是人听了道，走开以后，被今生的思虑钱财宴乐挤住了，便结不出成熟的子粒来；（The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature）那落在好土里的，就是人听了道，持守在诚实善良的心里，并且忍耐着结实。（But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop）”
神眼里的众生一视同仁。因此，真理撒在了所有的地面上；但能不能结果，则要取决于真理的受众自己了。有结果，是你自己的努力；没有结果，也是你自己的缘故，丝毫也怨不得别人。
“神国的奥秘，只叫你们知道。”或者说，神国的种子只能在好土（有德之士）上结实。这不是不公平，而恰恰是最大的公平。
没有接受真理——不是神没有给予，而是你拒绝了神的赐予！你听信了魔鬼，就交出了已得的道；你拒绝了艰苦的“试炼”，而没有坚守；你选择了“钱财”，却不是正道；你听了道，但毫无“信心”——这一切难道不是你自己拒绝的么？！
能怪谁呢？
你可能会说：要是神直接给我果实，我一定接受。
真理的传播就是这样的：只给种子，不给果实。要想结果，就得自己培植这种子。神已经给你饭食，难道还要让神来喂你吃饭不成吗？！
种子是普通的，是不起眼的。但若是没有种子，也就没有了丰硕的果实。
耶稣在《约翰福音》里说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，一粒麦子不落在地里死了，仍旧是一粒。若是死了，就结出许多子粒来。（I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds）”
如果神直接给人以果实的话，连恶魔也会来争抢的。
“神国的奥秘，只叫你们知道。”神国的奥秘，不叫恶人知道，不叫常人知晓，不叫小人得到。
善良的人们哪，你们知道吗？——真理是留给你们的！
