PILOT A

     再看第一集真是很感慨的。十年前的friends多年轻呀。记得第一次看这一集时我最喜欢那个帅帅的Ross, 迷人的Rach，总预感他们会成为一对儿。果然，他们的感情戏贯穿全剧。

(They all stare, bemused.)

Phoebe: Just, 'cause, I don't want her to go through what I went through with Carl- oh!看后面才知道Carl是Ross的lesbian前妻。这句话应该是Phoebe以Ross的语气说的。我不想她重蹈我和Carl的覆辙。

Monica: Okay, everybody relax. This is not even a date. It's just two people going out to dinner and- not having sex.六人行里谈sex的场面无处不在，可见美国人谈sex是很随便的一件事儿。这也是为什么老友记迟迟无法在央视上演的原因吧。

Chandler: Sounds like a date to me.

[Time Lapse]

Chandler: Alright, so I'm back in high school, I'm standing in the middle of the cafeteria, and I realize I am totally naked.呵呵Chandler语不惊人死不休的个性可见一斑~

All: Oh, yeah. Had that dream.

Chandler: Then I look down, and I realize there's a phone... there.

Joey: Instead of...?

Chandler: That's right.

Joey: Never had that dream.

Phoebe: No.

Chandler: All of a sudden, the phone starts to ring,and it turns out it's my mother, which is very-very weird, because- she never calls me!

[Time Lapse, Ross has entered.]

Ross: (mortified) Hi.Ross say hi的表情真的蛮可爱滴，难怪Joey会说下面的话。

Joey: This guy says hello, I wanna kill myself.

Monica: Are you okay, sweetie?

Ross: I just feel like someone reached down my throat, grabbed my small intestine, pulled it out of my mouth and tied it around my neck...可以想见Ross说这话时发狠的样子，这句话绝对经典。大话西游里是不是有一段话蛮像的。

Chandler: Cookie?

Monica: (explaining to the others) Carol moved her stuff out today.

Joey: Ohh.

Monica: (to Ross) Let me get you some coffee.

Ross: Thanks.

Phoebe: Ooh! Oh! (She starts to pluck at the air just in front of Ross.)

Ross: No, no don't! Stop cleansing my aura! No, just leave my aura alone, okay?

aura:An aura is a quality or feeling that seems to surround a person or  place or to come from them.当时的场景是Ross进来跟大家诉说他的不幸婚姻，倒了霉运的他周身象是鬼神附身一般。Phoebe 这人第一喜欢帮助人，第二她总是神神叨叨的，还记得有一集里她看到一只猫，就说是她死去的妈。于是Phoebe想帮Ross把霉运赶走，PhD Ross自然是反对封建迷信的，就对Phoebe说，意思是你别烦我了，省省吧。

Ross: I'll be fine, alright? Really, everyone. I hope she'll be very happy.

Monica: No you don't.

Ross: No I don't, to hell with her, she left me!

Joey: And you never knew she was a lesbian...

Ross: No!! Okay?! Why does everyone keep fixating on that? She didn't know, how should I know?这句话很实用，意思是为什么你们总是提起那件事呢？因为Joey又提到Ross妻子Carol是lesbian的事儿，Ross非常恼火，于是冒出这样一句fixate on sth.

Chandler: Sometimes I wish I was a lesbian... (They all stare at him.) Did I say that out loud? 

Joey: Alright Ross, look. You're feeling a lot of pain right now. You're angry. You're hurting. Can I tell you what the answer is?

(Ross gestures his consent.)

Joey: Strip joint! C'mon, you're single! Have some hormones!　Strip joint是脱衣舞场的意思。，joint=place通常指不那么高雅的地方。Joey意思是Ross现在虽然很受伤，但是正好恢复单身，可以去脱衣舞场去， "have some hormones"直译就是你要有一些男性荷尔蒙呀，翻译过来就是你应该有点儿男子气，该去（脱衣舞场）找乐子去。
Ross: I don't want to be single, okay? I just... I just- I just wanna be married again!

开始看到这里时真是很喜欢Ross这么专情的性格哩。

(Rachel enters in a wet wedding dress and starts to search the room.)

Chandler: And I just want a million dollars! (He extends his hand hopefully.)

Monica: Rachel?!

Rachel: Oh God Monica hi! Thank God! I just went to your building and you weren't there and then this guy with a big hammer said you might be here and you are, you are!这是Rachel第一次出场，穿着雪白婚纱的Rach一出场就令人眼前一亮。原来十年前的Jennifer Aniston长的是这个样子，岁月不饶人，年轻就是美呀。Rachel独特的语气令人对她印象至深，oh God,oh God,oh God,oh God,oh God,oh God~

Waitress: Can I get you some coffee?

Monica: (pointing at Rachel) De-caff. 不含咖啡因的咖啡=decaffeinated coffee

de-不是缩写,是个前缀,意思就是"去掉...的" caffeine:is a chemical substance found in coffee,tea,cocoa,which affects your brain and body and makes you more active.

这是是指Monica看Rach已经很激动的样子，所以替她要了一杯De-caff.
(to All) Okay, everybody, this is Rachel, another Lincoln High survivor. (to Rachel)

想想看，我们从高考的独木桥中杀出来，还有什么比survivor这个词更贴切的呢。

This is everybody, this is Chandler, and Phoebe, and Joey, and- youremember my brother Ross?

Rachel: Hi, sure!

Ross: Hi.

(They go to hug but Ross's umbrella opens.  He sits back down defeated again.  A moment of silence follows as Rachel sits and the others expect her to explain.)

Monica: So you wanna tell us now, or are we waiting for four wet bridesmaids?

Rachel: Oh God... well, it started about a half hour before the wedding. I was in the room where we were keeping all the presents, and I was looking at this gravy boat. This really gorgeous Lamauge gravy boat. gravy boat:An elongated, boat-shaped pitcher used to serve gravy.中文里解释为船行卤肉船A gravy boat usually sits on a matching plate, which is used to catch gravy drips. Sometimes the plate is permanently attached to the pitcher. A matching ladle often accompanies a gravy boat. Also called sauce boat. When all of a sudden- (to the waitress that brought her coffee)Sweet 'n' Lo?低脂糖sweet'n'lo据说是一种有名的牌子，所以就用这个表示代糖。- I realized that I was more turned on by this gravy boat than by Barry! turn on在这里表示让人更兴奋激动的意思，就是引起人的性兴奋，美国人讲这些真是很随便的And then I got really freaked out, and that's when it hit me: how much Barry looks like Mr. Potato Head. freak out吓坏了，用的频率真是很高，几乎每集都有，就是表达焦躁害怕不安等情绪的意思Y'know, I mean, I always knew looked familiar, but... Anyway, I just had to get out of there, and I started wondering 'Why am I doing this, and who am I doing this for?'. (to Monica) So anyway I just didn't know where to go, and I know that you and I have kinda drifted apart,kinda就是kind of很口语的说法drift apart是疏远的意思 but you're the only person I knew who lived here in the city.

在“六人行”的阵营中，Rachel是最具有小资气质的一个，从她的打扮、购物、说话的腔调以及那种小儿科的攀比心理可以明确地看出这一点。Rachel出生于中产阶级家庭（甚至是资产阶级家庭），从小养尊处优，在做女招待之前从来不知柴米油盐贵。在和一个稳定但缺少情趣的牙医的婚礼上，突然意识到自己在重蹈母亲的覆辙，将会平平淡淡地渡过一生。从而激起了开创新生活的理想。逃婚以后，和Monica一起住，在大家的鼓励下开始独立生活。在Central Perk作一个吧女，她并不称职，但是她带着一半玩乐的心情坚持，在暗恋他的酒保的眼开眼闭下，愉快地在咖啡馆里胡闹。

Monica: Who wasn't invited to the wedding.

Rachel: Ooh, I was kinda hoping that wouldn't be an issue...这句的意思是“我希望这件事不是个问题”，以Rach的语气说来应该就是给我留小小面子吧，别再提了。
