The streets of Beichuan County

The construction of the new Beichuan County, which was destroyed during the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008, has been completed and nearly 40,000 residents will move here by the end of this year.

The county has a complete basic living system, such as water, electricity, gas and health care. The comprehensive disaster shelters, including public green space, schools and stadiums, ensure the residents can walk to the nearest safe places in five minutes.

People visit the "Mexican Suitcase --Rediscovered Spanish Civil War negatives by Capa, Chim, and Taro" exhibition at the International Center of Photography in New York, the United States, Sept. 23, 2010. The Mexican Suitcase for the first time gave the public an opportunity to experience images drawn from this famous collection of recovered negatives. In December 2007, three boxes filled with rolls of film, containing 4,500 35mm negatives of the Spanish Civil War by Robert Capa, Gerda Taro, and Chim (David Seymour) - which had been considered lost since 1939 - arrived at the International Center of Photography.
