China's Health Ministry has officially submitted an application for Chinese acupuncture to be recognized as an intangible world heritage, reporters recently learned from Zhujiang Forum, a national forum on the development of Chinese Medicine.

Wang Guoqiang, the vice minister of China's Health Ministry and the director of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said the Health Ministry was planning to apply to have the Chinese acupuncture placed on the UNESCO Intangible World Culture Heritage List, and the application proposal has already been finished and submitted to United Nations.
