Traveling by myself was a dream of mine throughout my childhood. I grew up in Hong Kong where my Dad’s company often offered free trips to its employees. By the time I was 13, I had been to about nine countries with my dad and his colleagues. This made me dream of traveling the whole world – alone.
I wanted to see and experience the culture, lifestyle, and difference of new places without others to slow me down or ruin my plans. I thought it would be more adventurous and fun to go somewhere alone and, as an only child, I was used to doing things by myself.

 

独自旅行一直是我儿时的梦想。我在香港长大。爸爸的公司经常向员工提供免费旅行。到了13岁，我已经和爸爸还有他的同事去过大约9个国家。这让我萌生出独自环游世界的梦想。
我想一个人去见识和体验不同地方的文化、生活方式和风土差异，没有其他人拖延我的脚步或打乱我的计划。在我看来，一个人去旅行更加惊险有趣。我是独子，早已习惯自食其力。
