Ugg boots have been what appears to be a fashion must-have for all seasons, including steaming hot summers and rainy springs, for the past several years.
What is it about Ugg boots that makes them so appealing to men – and especially women – throughout the United States and other developed countries? It is the soft, fluffy interior? The warmth that envelopes the foot as it is hugged by the innovative combination of authentic and synthetic materials? Or could it be the upscale boho look that celebrities like Mary Kate Olsen have worn uggs sale to excess, resulting in fanatical fashionistas? Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure: Uggs are continuing to invade school campuses.
Ranging in size, shape, color and fabric, consumers have seemingly limitless options when it comes to wearing the Australian brand's merchandise. Youtube's "Shoe" video caused an underground sensation. Nike's Air Force Ones even had a song devoted to them. And now Uggs are with us, and will continue to stay with us for what seems like a long time. The sheepskin boots designers have a good thing going for them; hopefully they can keep it up.
In a world where shoe brand is almost as indicative of status as type of car drivened or amount of bathrooms within the official residence, one should wonder where our priorities lie. Are a pair of Uggs worth saving up for when the average price of groceries skyrockets? While America is in financial turmoil, thousands if not millions of shoppers, apparently unaffected by their newly upturned bank acounts, continue to drool over these shoes made from "grade-A sheepskin."
