Interaction Management accommodates the delivery of the right content to the right person at the right time. Using the browser-based tools, administrators directly modify Campaigns, Content Selectors, Placeholders, and User Segments.
Administrators can personalize content displayed in a portal by managing rules for Content Selectors, Placeholders, User Segments and Campaigns:
Content Selectors are a mechanism that, under a certain set of conditions, queries the content management system for documents. The Content Selector returns an array of content and content metadata. This allows you to define the conditions under which specific content can be viewed by a visitor to a Web site.Placeholders define a spot on a page to render a single piece of content at any one time. Developers use Placeholder tags to build personalized pages.User Segments are groupings of users based on common characteristics gathered from their profiles and context (for example, session, request, and online behavior) used to drive personalization.Campaigns provide the mechanism for driving online behavior and personalization toward specific business goals. Campaign management enables you to activate and deactivate Campaigns based on time and date information, business goals, and individual interaction with the site.
For additional documentation on Interaction Management, see theInteraction Management Guide on BEA‘s edocs page.
