I Googled myself

to see what would happen

it felt good for a few moments

but I was not alone.

There were lots of me out there

all over the planet.

I was a doctor, a scientist, a murderer,

an artist, a clairvoyant,

a father, a brother, and a friend.

I live in Singapore, Athens, Oklahoma City,

Seattle, San Francisco, London, Oshkosh (B'Gosh),

and Pittsburgh.

I've written books, been married hundreds of times,

and have lived and died more times than I can count.

When I finally got to the real me

(after ten pages),

I was still here,

in living color,

looking at myself

for what I really was.

A writer who wants to be read.
