But we often forget to reward ourselves when we accomplish something special. As anyone who has trained a puppy knows, even small rewards go a long way(v.大有帮助) in modifying behavior. You'll be much more likely to succeed at weight loss if you make rewards an integral part of your program. Give yourself non-food presents when you meet short- and long-term goals. A new Walkman cassette for your weekly goal, a fleece pullover(套头衫) for your monthly goal, a walking vacation for a yearly goal. If your budget is tight(adj.紧张的), choose rewards that cost nothing -- a do-it-yourself manicure(n.修指甲), a quiet hour with a great paperback, or a long nap on a rainy afternoon. 我们会称赞孩子,表扬爱人,赞许同事——甚至在餐厅,对于服务生额外的周到服务也会加以酬谢。但是在我们做成什么某件事时,我们自己却常常忘记了该如何犒赏自己。凡是训练过小狗的人都知道,再小的鼓励对纠正小狗的行为也会有很大的帮助。当你将奖赏作为你减肥计划一部分的时候,你成功的机率可能要高很多。 当你完成某个短期或者是长期目标的时候,奖励自己一些礼物吧——不是吃的东西。完成一周计划,给自己新买个随身听;完成一个月目标,送给自己一件羊毛套衫;如果达成了整年的目标,就给自己来个徒步旅行吧。要是手头预算比较紧张的话,可以选个不花钱的奖励方式——为自己修个指甲;或者找本好书,享受一小时的闲静阅读;又或者在某个阴雨天的一下午,好好地打个盹。
