广东梅县人，1927年入党，参加过长征。主要任历：战争时期：中革军委参谋部部长、瑞金卫戍区司令员、红一方面军参谋长、红军前敌总指挥部参谋长、八路军总参谋长、中央军委参谋长、中国人民解放军总参谋长、北平军管会主任。新中国成立后：广州市军管会主任、中南军区代司令员、中央人民政府军委副主席、武装力量监察部部长、军事科学院首任院长兼政委、中央军委副主席、中共中央副主席、全国人大委员长。1955年被授予元帅军衔，1975年被任命为国防部部长。

迟浩田　

山东招远人，1946年入党，1944年参加八路军。主要任历：第三野战军连指导员，1949年荣获华东二级人民英雄称号。新中国成立后参加抗美援朝，任志愿军营教导员，1952年荣立一等功。后于1960年 8月毕业于高等军事学院，又升任团政委、师政委、北京军区副政委、中国人民解放军副总参谋长、济南军区政委、中国人民解放军总参谋长、中央军委委员、中央军委副主席、1993年 3月任国务委员兼国防部长，1988年被授予上将军衔。
