Nowadays, the census of Lhasa, capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region, is in preparation.
"The staff workers are ready and funds have been allocated now. Now a research on the division of census areas is going on," said Liang Xiaoping, director of Lhasa Statistics Bureau. This task is the heaviest one in recent years, which will take the biggest number of staff members the longest time to finish.
According to Liang, a total of 7,000 workers will be assembed who are required to have basic reading and writing skills and speak both Tibetan and Chinese.
The registration work will start off at 12 am on November 1 and end on November 10. Population of births or deaths during this period will also be registered.
