The following are the highlights of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's ongoing tour in South Korea on Saturday.
SEOUL -- Premier Wen said here Saturday that China and South Korea should keep the continuity and stability of their respective economic policies.
As two major economies in Asia, China and South Korea need to maintain the strength of the measures they adopted to deal with the financial crisis, Wen said at a meeting with South Korean businessmen.
In the face of a global economic meltdown, the two nations have adopted effective counter-measures, which have not only achieved national economic revival but also contributed to the global economic recovery, he said.
SEOUL -- Premier Wen made a four-point proposal on Saturday on closer economic ties with South Korea in a meeting with South Korean Prime Minister Chung Un-chan.
The economies of China and South Korea are increasingly interdependent and closer to each other, and have a great potential for cooperation, Wen said.
The Chinese premier suggested that the two countries speed up the work on establishing a China-South Korea free trade area in a gradual manner by seeking common ground while reserving differences.
JEJU, South Korea -- Leaders of China, Japan and South Korea met Saturday in South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju for their third trilateral summit with the aim of mapping out future cooperation in East Asia.
Premier Wen, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama attended the talks.
China expects the meeting to nail down key areas of cooperation so as to support the economic recovery and the construction of the East Asian community, said Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun earlier.
JEJU, South Korea -- Leaders of China, Japan and South Korea on Saturday issued a document outlining a blueprint for cooperation within the coming 10 years.
Premier Wen, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, who are meeting in South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju for an annual trilateral summit, made joint pledges to further trilateral cooperation in such areas as economy, security, environmental protection and cultural exchange.
