Hi,
I need source code for a basic html parser written in C or C++, preferably
free.
My web searches have found nothing, can someone point me in the right
direction please.
Thanks and regards,
..matthew
P.S. I‘m developing in VC++ ver 5 (for my sins).

If you could live with XHTML instead of HTML, then any XML parser will do
and there are plenty out there that are open source. I am the primary author
of the Apache Xerces XML parser which is open source and certainly should
parser XHTML (which is just strictly well formed HTML.)

(a) this is off-topic here; the newsgroup is for discussion of
the language C, not applications written therein.
(b) try Dave Raggett‘s HTML Tidy program. It‘s free.

Alta Vista, search for "HTML Tidy" (with the quotes), that found me the
www.w3.org page, the link to Tidy is part-way down the RHS of the page.

So, if one puts a pet smiley in his post it‘s OK for him to call those
who tries to keep this newsgroup on its subject jerks?  So, Marshall Cline,
a maintainer of FAQ (which contains Netiquette for posting here) is a jerk?
What does it make you then?

If you‘re going to complain about off-topicness, you would do well to
mention the group by name, rather than simply call it "here". The
posting in question was in fact on-topic for one of the crossposted
groups.

What happened if we discussed Windows programming instead of wasting
time on this matter.
I would rather read, ask and answer about API than who‘s jerking
around in this group or not.
If one of us think a subject is off-topic why don‘t we send an email
to the poster instead of posting the message in the group.
I think this discussion is off-topic including my own posting.

Chris

Damn, you‘re quite right. Just in case anyone had any doubt, I was
reading in comp.lang.c, and I hereby apologise for my carelessness.
