美国总统就职典礼上朗诵了一首什么诗？

一个名叫伊丽莎白的四十几岁的女诗人，在奥巴马总统就职典礼上，非同寻常地朗诵了一首她自己写的诗，并看上去令奥巴马很受用。此女诗人是一个很有名气的诗人，出版了很多本诗集。关键是她的哥哥是美国总统奥巴马的高级顾问。于是，开了一个小小的后门，就有了总统就职典礼上朗诵诗歌的一幕。全美很多人那么安静地听着诗人从头到尾的朗诵。那场面的确很有些让人感动的，也多多少少会让我们的一些诗人感到嫉妒与无奈。

那么，她朗诵了一首什么样的诗歌呢？我把这首诗的原文放在这里，并加上我的试译文。诗歌很美，很有意境，也很有语言上的穿透力。

Each day we go about our business,
walking past each other,
catching each others' eyes or not,
about to speak or speaking.

修补着一切需要修补的地方。

Someone is trying to make music
somewhere with a pair of wooden spoons
on an oil drum with cello, boom box, harmonica, voice.
有人在某地方，用一双木制汤匙
加上大提琴，隆隆响的盒子，口琴，和声音，
在一面油乎乎的鼓上尽力制造着某种音乐的声响。

A woman and her son wait for the bus.
A farmer considers the changing sky;
A teacher says, "Take out your pencils. Begin."
We encounter each other in words,
words spiny or smooth,
whispered or declaimed;
words to consider, reconsider.
一个女人和她的儿子等待着巴士。
一个农人观察多变的天空；
一个老师说，“把铅笔都拿出来。现在开始。”
我们是用言语彼此相遇，

We cross dirt roads and highways
that mark the will of someone
and then others who said,

We need to find a place where we are safe;

picked the cotton and the lettuce,
built brick by brick the glittering edifices
they would then keep clean and work inside of.

Others by first do no harm,
or take no more than you need.

是超越男女之爱，孝顺之爱，对国家之爱。

一切都有可能成功，一切美好语言都可能溢出胸膛。
