All the settings in the house could be controlled by an intelligent mobile phone, such as adjusting shower flow, heights of tables and chairs, the sliding bed and so on.

The house's designer, surnamed Ma, has a master's degree in mechanical engineering. One day, the idea of building an intelligent house came to him, and then he gathered several friends who had the same idea to realize it. They started their program in September and spent about 120,000 RMB to build it within three months.

Since the photos of its building were published on the Internet, the intelligent small villa triggered a lot of debates. Some say it is quite creative and intelligent and much better than the popular egg-shaped house. However, some Netizens questioned how the house works in reality. They wondered about its energy use and costs as well as whether it was really livable or more just a concept.

Regarding all the debates on Internet, Ma and his friends said they built the house to realize their dream and also challenge the high housing prices in Beijing.

As of now, the house has already been taken down. All the materials were saved for other uses.
