EU official escapes injury in attack in Kosovo

A senior European Union (EU) official escaped injury when he was attacked in Prishtina in Kosovo on Tuesday, police said.

According to reports reaching here, the official is a member of the EU Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) but his identity was being withheld. EULEX spokesman Blerim Krasniqi said the official was unhurt.

EULEX and Kosovo police forces sealed off the scene not too far from EULEX's headquarter and they were investigating whether the official's car window was hit by a bullet.

The attack came as EULEX is expected to investigate corrupt Kosovo officials, including members of the government.
