My dear father

我很伤心，因为我觉得爸爸从来不关心我，可是那天……
BELIEVE it or not, there was once a time when my father and I were strangers. Even if my whole family were having dinner together, the only thing I did was fill my stomach as quickly as possible. Seldom did I look at his face and he also didn't talk with me. I often asked myself the same questions, was he my father? If so, why couldn't I feel his love?
Obviously, there was a wall separating my father and me. But I was eager for my father's love. Nobody knew how jealous (嫉妒的) I was when I saw other fathers and daughters walking hand in hand. However, for me, it was only a dream.
With years gone by, I couldn't bear it any more. So I decided to tear down this wall into pieces. But I needed courage.
Everything began to change after I wrote a letter to my father. I can imagine the surprised look of my father when he read the letter, which was really a shock to him.
"I am sorry, my daughter. It is my fault that I have ignored (忽视) your feelings. But I promise, from now on, I'll try my best to be a good father," My father told me this later. At that moment, tears rolled down my cheeks.
He ignored my feelings before, but now he really understands the importance of love and has changed a lot. Now every time I come home from school, my father will talk with me. He will ask me whether I get along well with my teachers and classmates and if everything is going well in school.
Finally, I have entered my father's world. I opened the door to his heart. My dream has come true!
I have succeeded in gaining happiness by my own efforts and I'll value it for ever and ever. He is my father, the only one I have.
"Wherever you go, whatever you do, your mother and I will be right there for you," said my father.
