At an event held to mark the 30th anniversary of China's partnership with the World Bank in Beijing, Vice Premier Li Keqiang reviewed the achievements made during China's cooperation with the World Bank Group.

He said China has greatly benefited from the development of the World Bank. And that China has helped the bank to reduce poverty.

Li said the global economy is gradually emerging from crisis, but needs a more-open market and less trade friction. He also emphasized that China will pay more attention to boost its domestic development.

Li Keqiang, Chinese Vice Premier said "Only by opening wider the market, can we optimize the allocation of the resources, the function of the market, and share the benefits of globalization. In order to achieve a win-win situation, countries should open their markets to each other, expand their fields of opening up and iron out the trade and technology barriers."

Li Keqiang also expects developing countries to play a larger role in the decision making process, and have more say at the World Bank.

World Bank president, Robert Zoellick, echoed Li's comments on the role the World Bank should play in promoting economic recovery.

He also proposed visions for future cooperation between the World Bank and China.

Robert Zoellick, President of World Bank said "As the most acute phase of the world economic crisis proceeds, the bank and China partnership will need to address new challenges. We will continue to work together to end poverty that still affects millions of people in this the country and to support the re-balance of the country to achieve a harmonious society."
