China's army troops have set off to join the "Peace Mission-2010" anti-terrorism drill in Kazakhstan under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The drill will be held from September 9th to 25th. The train carrying the unit and weapons starts from the town of Zhurihe, in Northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
It heads for Kazakhstan, where the drill will take place in Alma-Ata and Otar City. More than one thousand personnel from the PLA land and air forces will participate in the drill. Chinese military weapons involved include tanks, armored cars, bombers and fighters.
4-thousand troops from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzastan, Russia, and Tajikistan will also participate in the drill. With a focus of maintaining peace and promoting cooperation among its member states, the drill is another long-distance, long-time military transfer since Chinese army troops went to Russia to join the China-Russia anti-terrorism drill in 2007.
