It was Saturday yesterday, May 5th, 2005. It was an unusual day for both Han Mei and her mother.
It was a free day. The sun shone brightly and the birds were singing happily outdoors. Han Mei got up early. Suddenly, she remembered it was her mother’s birthday! Then, she thought:“Mum is always working hard, so that she can make money for me. But I never do anything for her. Today, I must give a surprise to her.” Han Mei thought, it was a good way to send a card and some flowers to her mother, as she knew her mother liked flowers.
But for a while, a serious problem came to her mind. “A card is cheaper, but it was made of wood. Wood! Trees! Forests! They are so important for us all. How can we cut down trees for cards ?”Thought of this, she gave up buying a card.
A moment later, she came up with an idea andpaid her action. She washed her mother’s feet instead of sending her a card.
“It’s the best present for me.” Her mother said. Both of them felt happy.
（2）                                A Present for Mother’s Birthday
It happenedin last month. Han Mei found that mother’s birthday was  coming. She wanted to give her mother a present for her birthday. So she  thought hard with her finger under her mouth. She knew her classmate Tom gave some flowers with a beautiful card for his mother’s birthday.  So she wanted to give her the same present to her mother. But she suddenly remembered that her teacher told her card was made of trees, though it was cheaper that any other presents. And now we must keep trees and protect our environment because it was our only earth. Then Han Mei came up with another idea. She was very happy because she was sure that her mother must like it. Soon her mother’s birthday--- May 21st. came. On that day, after her mother finished housework, she let her mother sit down and began to wash her mother’s feet. At first, her mother was very surprised and asked her why Han Mei did that. But her mother knew the answer soon. She said, “Thank you for your present. I like it very much.”
（3）                  A Present for Mother’s Birthday
Han Mei is a kind girl who loves her mother very much.
Last day was May 21st, her mother’s birthday. Han Mei was quite happy, because she could give a present to her mother in order to thank her mother that she was always thinking about her. But she had a problem. “What present shall I giver to my mother?” she thought. “ A card and some flowers?” She had an idea. “ No, no. Though a card is cheap, it is made of paper. Teachers says, we should not do anything bad to our environment.” she said to herself. “Yes, I have a good idea!” She shouted with a big smile. Then she hurried to the washing room happily. In the evening, as soon as her mother came, Han Mei said to her, “ Happy Birthday, Mum!” and lead her mother to the room. She let her mother sit down and began to help her mother wash her legs. Her mother was too happy to say anything. She couldn’t help to crying. She thought, “What a kind girl I have!”
（4）                    A Present for Mother’s Birthday
Han Mei’s mother’s birthday came on May 21th. It was Saturday and Han Mei didn’t have to go to school. She thought much about what to buy for her mother as a birthday present.
At first, she wanted to buy some flowers for her mother. What a pity! She didn’t have enough money. And then she thought she could buy a beautiful card. But she had been told that cards were made from wood. It was not right to cut down trees for making cards. Suddenly, she came up with a good idea. She took some water to help her mother wash feet and said “Happy Birthday” to her mother. Han Mei’s mother was moved and said thanks with a big smile on her face.
What a good girl she is!
（5）                       A Present for Mother’s Birthday
As the daysgo past, Han Mei’s mother’s birthday will soon come. Han Mei was thinking hard about what to buy for her dear mother who always works hard and doesn’t stop until late into night. She had thought about flowers and a birthday card and was sure mother would like them very much. But suddenly, a problem trapped her. Thoughcard is cheaper, it’s made from wood which can stop the soil from running and store rain drops. She should protect them. Finally, a good idea came up to her, se smiled…
The day came, Han Mei was at home. She felt a little nervous but excited, in a word, she was waiting for her mother to come in hopeness. Then came the bell. Mother appeared at the door as usual. Han Mei came up to her with a smile on her face saying: “Happy Birthday, mother!” please sit down and have a rest!” Mother seemed surprised by this action. She couldn’t help showing her happiness. She sat in front of Han Mei. Han Mei washed her feet carefully.
“In the past, my mother washed my feet every day, but what have I done?” Han Mei’s face turned red. “ Happy birthday, mum!” Han Mei said silently in her heart.
（6）                       A Present for Mother’s Birthday
Today was Saturday. It was May 21th. It was the most important day in Han Mei’s life. Because today was her mother’s birthday. Her mother took good care of her and Han Mei loved her mother very much.
So Han Mei thought hard to give her mother a wonderful present. She though: “ A card is cheaper, but it is made of wood. It’s bad for our environment.” Then she went out to look for something. She saw some flowers in the shop. But she thought flowers were too expensive to buy. Suddenly, she came up with a wonderful idea. She ran home as quickly as possible.
She asked her mother to sit down and took off the shoes. She helped her mother to wash her feet. She said: “Mum, I love you. You are so tired that to take good care of me. Thank you!” Han Mei said with her tears. Her mother was very happy.
Dear friends, we must do something to help our mothers, because they are too tired for us.

Mother’s birthday was coming. Han Mei wanted to give a present to her mother. Her mother liked a rose very much. So she wanted to give her mother some beautiful roses and a nice card which was with her best wishes. But Han Mei was a Middle School student, she couldn’t afford the expensive roses. She thought a card was cheaper, but the card was made from wool, she thought if she bought the card, that meant she cut down the trees. No, NO! We must protect our environment. Han Mei thought hard…
Suddenly, a good idea came to her mind: Mother was busy with her work, she must have a good relax.
In the evening, her mother came home from work. Han Mei said: “Happy birthday, Mother! ” then she let her mother sit down. She washed her mother’s legs. Her mother was so happy that tears ran from her mother’s eyes.

Yesterday was Saturday. It was Mother’s birthday. Han Mei decided to buy a nice present for her mother. Her mother liked flowers very much. So at first, Han Mei wanted to buy a beautiful flowers. But she couldn’t offord it. A card was cheaper. But the paper was made from wood. Everyone must take care of our environment. She thought. After a while, she came up with a good idea.
In the evening, mother came back home from the workplace. Han Mei let mother sit in the chair and helped her wash her feet. “Happy birthday! Mum! It is a present for you. I wish you will like it!” Han Mei said. “Oh, my dear! It is the best present that I have got.” Mother said with a big smile.
The best present for our parents is love, not flowers, cards or others.

Han Mei was a very good girl who cared about the environment. Once, her mother’s birthday was coming on May 21st, 2005. she wanted to buy a present for her mother. First, she decided to buy some beautiful flowers. But after a while, she was sad, because she couldn’t afford the flowers. They were very expensive. Then she suddenly had an idea. She wanted to buy a card. It was cheap and she could write some words on it with her best wishes. Then she thought that the card was made of wood. The trees were very important and everyone should protect them, so she gave up the decision. All of a sudden, she came up with an idea. She would like to wash her mother’s feet. On her mother’s birthday, Han Mei washed her mother’s feet very carefully. Her mother felt so happy that she said Han Mei was a good girl. What a good present it was!

Last Saturday, May 21st, 2005. it was my mother’s birthday. I was very excited. But I didn’t know what to buy for my dear mother. I thought for a while, then I came up with an idea, flowers and a card. But I didn’t have enough money to buy flowers. So I chose a card. A card was very cheap. But… suddenly, some trees appeared in front of my eyes. They weren’t tall, strong trees. They were cut down by people. It I bought a card. It meant that I harmed the environment. As a student, I couldn’t do like this. So I thought hard about what to buy for mother.
At last, I came up with a good idea. After a day’s work, mother must be very tired when she came back. I told mother to sit on the chair. Then I brought some water. I helped mother wash the feet. My mother was so happy, so was I.

Han Mei is a good student in Middle school. She is very lovely and she likes her mother very much. Her mother’s birthday was just last Saturday on May 21st. So she decided to give her mother a big surprise with her good present. At first she wanted to give some beautiful flowers and a nice card with her best wishes. But she thought that though a card was cheaper, the trees now were fewer and fewer. So now it is our duty to protect the trees. So she didn’t want to send those to her mother. But she had no ideas. She didn’t know which one to choose. The present not only was good to show her love to her mother, but also didn’t waste trees. Mother would come back soon so she must think out an idea. Suddenly she thought that mother was so tired that her feet were older. So she decided to clean her mother’s feet as her present. After supper, Han Mei sat on the short chair and cleaned her mother’s feet. And at that time Han Mei and her mother were both excited and surprised.

Last Saturday, on May 21st, 2005. Han Mei suddenly realized that it was her mother’s birthday that day. She thought very hard about what kind of present she would buy for her mother. A bunch of flowers or a birthday card?  She found it really hard to decide. At last, she thought that even though a card was cheaper, it’s harmful for the environment. She knew that people would cut more trees in order to make cards. No wonder Han Mei was a clever girl. She made up her mind and wanted to give her mother a big surprise.
In the evening, she took a basin with a lot of warm water in it to her mother and began to wash her mother’s feet. Her mother was really surprised and spoke highly of her daughter. She said that Han Mei had really grown up.
