Very nice, even if i think you should have stop in 2005 ;-)
Maybe if you have time you could tell what you did, what kind of trainning.
See you.

Something‘s fishy. Either this guy has an almost superhuman ability to take the exact same photo every time or there‘s some photoshopping going on. (3/04 and 4/04 are good examples. Laid out in Photoshop, his face is in the exact same position.)
Also, if this is real, he‘s clearly juicing. 6/03 or so shows a probable maximum natural fitness on his frame. Around 2005, he starts gaining mass at an incredible rate. Plus, as happened with Barry Bonds, his head grows inexplicably.

Bro - if this is legit It looks like your training regime inclues getting on the gear towards the end of every year then cutting down as you get closer to summer.
Look at your bloat and the gains you make in only a couple of months at the end of 04,05 and 06 (in contrast to the gains you make at any other time during the year)
So, if these pics are fake, you need to get better at photoshop and if its legit I hope you have read about the effects of long-term steroid use.

Hey! I have been a member of JohnStoneFitness.com for almost 3 years. This is a non-commercial health & fitness community; many of us long-timers have become personal friends. We meet annually for a "cheat" meal down in John‘s home town. I assure you: no roids or anything else in his regimen. He posts daily his food and his workout. His poses are to show how his muscles have developed. There are a number of well-known body-builders too, contest winners who are completley "natural" demonstrated regularly by tests. Different ones advise John at different points. I am a 59 yo female. I too made a transformation though not as dramatically and as successfully as John (lack the discipline :-) ). There are many women there who have too. See this thread:http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/showthread.php?t=10747 (Fit Women over 42...) and many other threads there showing members of the community making fitness part of their daily life. Men who weighed 350 lbs and now could be in a rock band. Women with bodies distorted by pregnancy who now have some of the sexiest abs and butts. We all use training methods based on the same principles that Jessica Simpson used to get her bod hot for "Dukes of Hazzard." Come on by, not commercial, great people, no flaming allowed, just regular decent folks spanning 16 yo to 64 yo, all educational, career and professional levels. We support each other in our fitness goals and we help out each other with advice in every other aspect of our lives when anyone needs it. You can get hold of your health and your life too.

I really don‘t think this is photoshopped. I looked at the ones in question, and the faces are very alike, but the hair is different. Plus, its the same guy! so his face will be very much the same in some of the photos, in each he gives the same trying to take a shit face.

new_personality_05:
I just have to laugh when I see some of the comments on here. It‘s hard to take--or let me rephrase that--I can‘t take some of these comments seriously at all.
A lot of ignorant people assume that if you eat healthy ,train your rear-end off in the gym, and gain mass that you are taking steroids. I bet some of you who are making those comments are jealous of the gains and progress he‘s made. I bet some of you haven‘t been in a gym for more than a week. I know some of you don‘t understand bodybuilding or the science of it at all. You do not know what it likes to train heavy for months on end. People say that he loses definition after a certain amount of time. Well, that tends to happen when you are BULKING...duh!
Vemrion, what you say about 40 different bodies is interesting...one day maybe you can find me 40 different people who are willing to stand in almost the same position in just their boxers and have it posted for the public to see, oh what a great gag! (sarcasm)
D, just because you CANNOT see the differences does not mean that others can‘t.
a/c, there‘s noting superhuman about it. It is something called CONSISTENCY.
Juicer, maybe the reason he‘s looking fuller is because he is on a particular phase...it‘s something called a bulking phase.
Some people like to have mass and muscles on them rather than be skinny punks who presuppose the use of steroids for every muscular Joe they come across.

Those of you accusing this guy of juicing are horribly incorrect. The type of change he is seeing over 4 years is not uncommon. The guy is simply eating like a horse.
I personally started weight training in January and have personally gained 22 pounds in that time without juicing. Stick to proper nutrition, and getting enough calories while training well, and you will see results like this.
Good job to the owner of this blog!

Trust me, as an amateur bodybuilder, growth like that wouldn‘t come from steroids. Steroid users are much bigger after 4 years. When I began body building I went from an athletic 170 to nearly 190 in little more than 3 months. People who don‘t lift much will see large gains fairly quickly. Congrats to John on turning his physical appearance around. I‘m sure he is enjoying the many benefits of bodybuilding.

Just checking to see how you are handling the delts and traps. Unfortunately, I too am a former "normy" and I spent the last 4 years completely transforming my body and making HUGE gains.
One thing that always helped me was Shark Cartilage...you might not be familiar with it.
One thing I‘ve always had trouble with is repping through the burn. I‘ve tried pretty much everything from creatine to thinking about my friend‘s wife, but nothing has given me that ability to rip through the burn.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Rapid dieting can cause pretty noticeable hair loss too. Androgens can cause it but as you see, it bounces back once he starts bulking again.
I do suspect some possible androgen use though. His jaw line is much more pronounced after the period. At times, he also makes some pretty drastic lean muscles increases in short periods.
Finasteride/Minox can be quite effective for hair if you‘re only using Testosterone.

Mark Nutter:
I have to say, I find this post extremely interesting and encouraging. I have always wanted to do something similar to this, except that I typically go hard for about 4-5 months and then stop training for 4.. and that pattern has kind of stuck.
I think it‘s fantastic he was able to get these kinds of results, and I really do believe it was just the result of hard work. I have quite a few friends who have had similar gains themselves and I know for a fact they don‘t use steroids or supplements outside whey protein.
That being said, I would actually like to see a similar photoset of what is known as a "hard-gainer", or somebody who is skinny but has a hard time putting on bulk. I have to say I think us hard-gainers have a harder time getting results than those who have a hard time keeping their weight down as this guy did in the beginning.

Interesting:
I think the real impressive stuff is what he managed to accomplish in the first 8 months.
Going from a regular flabby guy to super-cut and muscular in such a short time is a much more inspiring accomplishment than 4 years to a bulked-up, bodybuilder type in 4 years. (For most people at least)

Chris:
Mhm,
let me add my two cents from a female perspective...
the transition from the beginning to 5/6/2003 is very impressive, and 5/6/2003 is no doubt a hot male physique. Not sure the extreme tan in that second row of pictures is necessary, but eh whatever.
Anything that comes after that is pretty sick. 7/6/2003 looks like he hasn‘t eaten in a week, or (more likely as I know bodybuilders do this) not drank any water for days before taking that picture.
Hint: the transparent-skin-pulled-taut-over-bulging-muscle look looks like ass.
The pictures after that are okay (though the nice sixpack does fade, although I won‘t complain since I don‘t like men fixating on my tits either), until about 03/04 when the athletic look changes into the steroid look.
Yes, he might not actually have been taking steroids, guess what? It doesn‘t matter. The idea is to look fit and toned, not like you spend hours every day in a neon lit room uselessly defying gravity.
Plus, the bulky look looks like ass. Especially in the bottom two rows where it looks like he gained all his fat back, just spread out over bulky muscles underneath.
Conclusio: I‘ll take a runner over a bodybuilder any day.

Obviously I can tell none of you workout nor looked at his amazing site (I‘ve gone there on and off since he started).
He looks fuller because its called ‘bulking‘ and looks more cut because of ‘cutting‘. Notice every few months he gets bigger and bigger then for a few months gets more and more toned.
He hasn‘t changed in 3 years really except for putting a lot of bulk behind the muscle. But... you HAVE to workout to maintain. Its impossible otherwise. That‘s basically what‘s happened.

His transformation was impressive, but as you can tell, he was aiming for more mass than just looking "slim." He will probably end up toning down the mass now that he‘s gained it, for a slimmer, fuller look like that seen in 300.
Yes, you can get a tan that quickly. You can also lose and gain little bits of weight that quickly as well. The pictures are different, even if only slightly. It‘s real, it‘s realistic (nobody said it‘s perfect), and it‘s lots of hours pumping weights.
