3. in the midst of the celebration of the Christmas season, we have been talking about the real meaning of Christmas
當大家歡慶聖誕時,我們要跟大家談談聖誕節的真正意義,
4. and we will continue to do so today

5. let me begin by telling you a story
我想先跟大家說一個故事,
6. A friend of mine told a story of when he was in college.
我的朋友告訴我他唸大學時的一個故事。
7. He and his roommate planned a surprise birthday party for John.
他跟他的室友要為約翰籌備一個令他驚喜的生日慶祝會。
8. John was their close friend.
約翰是他倆的好朋友。
9. And, after all the arrangements were made, . . .
當一切都安排妥當,
10. the invitations were issued . . .
並發出了請帖,
11. and a special gift was purchased.
又精心挑選了一份禮物。
12. My friend and his roommate looked forward to this special celebration.
我那位朋友跟他的室友很熱切的期待慶祝會的來臨。
13. 30 enthusiastic guests came that night to celebrate John’s birthday.
當天晚上,三十位熱情的賓客來到約翰的生日慶祝會。
14. About 30 minutes into the party, the two friends suddenly remembered… They had forgotten to do one important thing
等了半個鐘頭,他們突然想起來,忘了最重要的事,
15. they had forgotten to invite the honored guest!
他們忘記邀請生日會的主客!
16. They left the party and went out looking for John.
他們離開慶祝會去找約翰。
17. But John was no where to be found!
但是怎么也找不著!
18. Finally they returned to the party and suggested that the celebration be canceled.
最后他們只好回去,提議取消慶祝會。
19. But the others insisted on having the party anyway, . . . without the honored guest.
但是其他人堅持繼續慶祝,就算主客不在場也沒關係。
20. Refreshments were served and a cake with 21 candles was lit.
于是大家享用點心,又點燃蛋糕上的二十一支蠟燭。
21. And they all sang happy birthday to John . . .who wasn’t there.
還為約翰唱生日歌,但他並不在場。
22. It all seemed like one big joke.
看起來就是一個大笑話。
23. The master of ceremonies was holding a gift, . . .
司儀拿著一份禮物,
24. that purchased from the meager resources of college students who pooled their money together to purchase that gift!
那份禮物還是這些大學生僅有的一點錢集資購買的!
25. He began to make his speech which drew hearty laughter from the crowd.
他開始致詞,卻引起哄堂大笑。
26. All of a sudden he realized that there was no one to accept the gift.
剎那間他想起不會有人來接受這份禮物。
27. And finally he concluded that the joke had gone too far.
最后他覺得玩笑開的太過分了。
28. So as the 30 guests left the dining hall, . . .
于是三十個客人離開了餐廳,
29. the two roommates were left behind bewildered and with a big lump in each of their throats.
兩個室友留下來,很惆悵的呆坐著。
30. On the next day when they told this story to John . . . (their absent guest of honor).
第二天當他們把經過情形告訴約翰這位生日會的主客,
31. He, too, thought that it was a joke.
他也認為是個大笑話。
32. When I heard this story, I couldn’t help but reflect on Christmas!
當我聽到這個故事,我不期然想到聖誕節!
33. Christmas is Christ’s birthday.
聖誕節是耶穌基督的生日。
34. He is the honored guest.
他就是那位主客。
35. But in many a celebration during this Christmas season, the honored guest will be missing.
但是在很多聖誕慶祝會裡,主客往往不在場。
36. In many a party and in family gatherings . . .the honored guest will be missing.
在很多慶祝會及家庭團聚裡,主客往往也不在場。
37. In many homes that celebrate the season, . . .the honored guest will be missing.
就是在很多慶祝聖誕節的家庭裡,往往主客並不在其中。
38. The honored guest has been left out in the cold.那位主客常被冷落在一旁。
39. The honored guest is unwelcome . . . and uninvited in many Christmas festivities.
在很多聖誕節聚會裡,那位主客既不受歡迎,也沒有被邀請。
40. But, from the very beginning Christ had no room in the inn.
同樣的,當初在客店裡就沒有房間給耶穌基督。
41. The Bible said:
聖經說:
42. When it was time for Mary to deliver her virgin born son . . .
當童貞女馬利亞要生她的兒子時,
43. there was no room for Him except in a stable.
除了馬槽之外,並沒有房間可以容身。
44. But this was by design.
但這是按照神的計劃發生的。
45. God ordered it that when He comes in human body . . . He will come in humility.
神命定祂道成肉身來到世界,是存著謙卑而來。
46. It was prophesied by all the prophets 700 years before his birth.
早在祂還沒有出生的七百年前,所有先知都這樣預言了。
47. It was foretold by all the seers.
所有先知都是這樣宣告的。
48. It was predicted by all of God’s mouth pieces.
神所有的代言人也作了同樣的預測。
49. That the King of Kings will not be born in a palace.
萬王之王不會誕生在皇宮裡。
50. now let me tell you why, Jesus, King of kings,was not born in a palace
讓我告訴你,為什么耶穌這位萬王之王不是生在皇宮裡。
51. If he was born in a palace:
如果祂在皇宮出生:
52. The fence and the walls would have made him inaccessible.
籬笆和圍牆就會攔阻人們接近祂。
53. The body guards would have made him unapproachable.
隨身侍衛不會讓人靠近祂。
54. The pomp and ceremony would have made him unreachable.
宮廷裡的繁文縟節將使祂高不可攀。
55. The throne would have made him remote.
王位使祂變得遙不可及。
56. When God left the glories of heaven . . . and became a man . . .
當神離開天上的榮華而成為人,
57. He wanted to identify with the poorest . . . the weakest . . . and lowliest among us.
祂要跟我們中間最貧窮的、最軟弱的和最卑微的看齊。
58. That is why He is the only figure in the entire history of the world that could say:
這就是為什么在整個人類歷史上,只有祂才可以說:
59. “Come to me all of you who are broken hearten.”
「你們若有心靈破碎的,可以到我這裡來。」
60. “Come to me all of you . . . who have broken lives.”
「你們若有傷痛人生的,可以到我這裡來。」
61. “Come to me all of you . . . who have broken dreams.”
「你們若有夢想幻滅的,可以到我這裡來。」
62. “Come to me all of you . . . who have dashed hopes.”
「你們若有希望落空的,可以到我這裡來。」
63. Only the one who made the universe . . . can issue such a incredible invitation.
只有創造宇宙的那一位,才能發出這樣非比尋常的邀請。
64. His invitation is very simple.
祂的邀請其實很簡單。
65. To come to Him.
到祂那裡。
66. You don’t have to belong to a certain class. To come to Him
你不需要進入某種階級才能到祂那裡。
67. You don’t have to speak a special language. To come to Him
你不需要講某種特殊的語言才能到祂那裡。
68. You don’t have to adopt special etiquette. To come to Him
你不需要遵行特殊的禮儀才能到祂那裡。
69. You don’t have to belong to a church or a denomination to come to Him
你不需要加入教會或宗派才能到祂那裡。
70. All you need to do to be forgiven and healed . . .is to come as you are.
如果你要罪得赦免並得著醫治,就以真面目去祂那裡便可以了。
71. Jesus was born in a stable because there was no room in the inn.
因為客店沒有房間,以至于耶穌在馬槽出生。
72. Now, 2000 years later . . . we have come full circle.
兩千年后的今天,我們繞了個大圈子回到原地。
73. Today . . . Jesus has no room in many a place.
今天,在很多地方耶穌也沒有容身之處。
74. The one who is the source of all enlightenment . . . has no room.
祂是所有文明的源頭,卻沒有容身之處。
75. The one who is the source of all knowledge . . .has no room.
祂是所有知識的源頭,卻沒有容身之處。
76. The one who governs the universe . . . has no room
祂掌管著宇宙,卻沒有容身之處。
77. The one who is the most perfect judge of the whole universe has no room
祂是整個宇宙中最完美的審判官,卻沒有容身之處。
78. He has all the answers . . . and human institutions don’t want answers.
祂擁有所有問題的解答,而人類社會卻不要這些答案。
79. We want to find answers in technology.
我們在科技上尋找答案。
80. We want to find answers in science.
我們在科學上尋找答案。
81. We want to find answers in psychology.
我們在心理學上尋找答案。
82. We want to find answers everywhere except where the real answer can be found.
我們在各地各方尋找答案,卻不去真正可以得到答案的地方尋找。
83. In the West, all of the answers have proven to have failed.
在西方社會裡已經証實了,所有找到的答案都是失效的。
84. Yet Jesus stands today . . . as He did for 2000 years saying:
然而耶穌基督直到今天沒有改變,正如祂兩千年前所說的:
85. “Come to me. I have the answers to your personal confusion.”
「到我這裡來,我可以解答你個人的疑惑。」
86. “I have the answers to your cultural disintegration.”
「我可以化解你文化解體的危機。」
87. “I have the answers to your emotional muddle.”
「我可以解開你情緒上的混亂。」
88. “I have the answers to your guilt and pain.”
「我可以解除你的罪和痛苦。」
89. My listening friends, I want to talk to you those of you who call themselves Christians.
親愛的朋友,我想跟你們當中自稱為基督徒的說。
90. You may be celebrating Christmas with the guest of honor missing in your life.
你也許在慶祝聖誕節,但生命中卻沒有那位主客。
91. You may be celebrating Christmas on the outside . . .
從外表看,你也許是在慶祝聖誕節,
92. yet, on the inside you are filled with turmoil and confusion.
但你的內心充滿了混亂和疑惑。
93. You may be celebrating Christmas outwardly . . .
從外表看,你也許是在慶祝聖誕節,
94. but inwardly you are angry and despondent.
但內心卻滿是憤怒和失望。
95. Some may say:
有人也許會說:
96. “I will have a room for Jesus in my life . . .but not quite yet.”
「我將會讓耶穌進入我的生命中,但現在還不是時候。」
97. You may never have another chance to make this decision again . . .
但你可能再也沒有機會作出這個決定,
98. and you could spend eternity in torment and regret.
你可能永遠落在痛苦和悔恨當中。
99. Why risk it?
為什么要冒這個險?
SECTION B
1. Some may say:
有人也許會說:
2. “I feel unworthy to be forgiven of my sins and healed of my guilt.”
「我覺得自己不配得到神對我的醫治並赦免我的罪。」
3. Figuratively speaking:
打個比方說:
4. your life could not be less worthy than the stable where Jesus was born.
你的生命總不至于會比耶穌出生的馬槽更卑賤吧?
5. Satan wants you to dwell on your past sins and past failures.
魔鬼撒但就是要你滯留在過去的罪和失敗中。
6. But Jesus wants to forgive you and come into your life tonight . . . will you let Him?
但今天,耶穌要赦免你的罪,更要進入你的生命中,你願意嗎?
7. You must never forget that the baby born in Bethlehem . . .
你千萬不要忘記那位生在伯利恆的嬰孩,
8. died on a cross
祂后來死在十字架上,
9. to pay the penalty of sin for all those who will come to Him.
以祂的寶血救贖所有願意來到祂跟前的人。
10. But then He rose from the dead.
但祂又從死裡復活了。
11. And soon He will come back to judge every human being that has ever lived.
很快的,祂將要再回來審判所有在地上生存過的人。
12. And, the only way you can get to heaven is through faith in Jesus Christ.
只有藉著相信耶穌基督,你才可以上天堂。
13. There is no other way.
並沒有其他的方法。
14. He is inviting you.
祂正在邀請你。
15. Will you respond by inviting Him in your life?
你願意請祂進入你的生命嗎?
16. it is my prayer that you would say yes
我祈望你說願意。
