All right, ladies and gentlemen. If u see this greeting, that means u have been attracted by the title. Yes, today i am gonna show u how to get a 24+ in the speaking part of TOEFL iBT. Except those DA NIUs, i think i may be helpful with my own experience and capability. So, let's cut the crap, do u wanna get a 24+? If u do, go on reading.

Question: how much time do u have to prepare for TOEFL iBT? If you only have 8 weeks or less, read the article on the second floor. Things i am gonna tell u can be no help for you. But if you have half a year, this can be a great help.

The first element: pronounciation & intonation

Some people may argue that P&I are not important as long as we can express our opinion precisely, but i'd rather say it's not true. how do u judge a people's Chinese? is one person's Chinese good when he/she speaks Chinese with strong Guangdong accent, or any other accent? of course no. so is one person's English good when he/she speaks English with Chinese accent or any other accent except Am or Br accent? the answer is pretty clear.

If you wanna speak English right, the first thing u've got to do is to practice P&I until they are perfectly close to the original accent.
Let's look at this point in another way. Do you ever find it's difficult to understand people when they have a strong accent, such as people from southern China.(no discrimination here, i am actually from Southern China.) so it is natural for iBT raters find it's difficult to understand people's English when they have strong accent, right? If u do want to give them a reason for a high score, convince them with your perfect P&I.::16

Suggestion: since i am from Southern China,i used to have strong accent when i talk in English. one of my fellow students recommended me one book( NOT the one BY LIYANG) the articles are quite good and they are read in Am and Br accent so it's quite easy for us to imitate as long as u made efforts. u can see the pics of this book below this article, make sure u get the right book.

The second element: what do you have in mind?

With the good or even perfect P&I, the next thing u r gonna worry about is what are u gonna say, what's in your mind when u hear a question or a topic, how r u gonna respond to it?
This is only one way to solve this problem. u speak what u've recited! the more u recited, the better your oral English will be.

so recite, recite, recite!
Keep on doing that and of course choose the material to do it.(personally i think New Concept English is very good.)

another book i found very useful is "Been there, Done that", it's a book written by a Chinese girl who moved to US when she way very young, she attended school there and finally got into a prestigious university. in this book, she tells us her experience as a junior student in a private junior high. the language she used is not very difficult and close to daily life. we can learn a lot of stuff from it. the pic of this book is posted as u may see.
Actually the most effective way is imitate language used in sitcoms(situation comedy) such as Friends. the native language, the jokes, the perfect innovation, everything u want to learn and everything u could learn about a foreign language can be found in those TV series. and it's pretty clear that this way is much more entertaining!

That's the whole idea of u improving your oral English from the long run.

practice your P&I, and remember any much as stuff as possible. in this way, your comprehensive English capability will be improved greatly.
But what if i only have 2 months to prepare for iBT, this is no chance i can do much with P&I coz i've got to practice listening, writing etc. this is a wonder u may have. don't worry, i got a wonderful plan for u guys if u keep on reading. 原文地址:http://club.topsage.com/thread-2327536-1-2.html
