HPOA (HOPA) Dry Erase Girl Jenny: Elyse Porterfield Fake Broker Assistant StoryUpdate: The story was another elaborate hoax put together by thechive with the help with an actress named Elyse Porterfield aka Jenny.

By now everyone in English speaking world are sure to have come across the photos of a woman who claims to be a broker’s assistant quitting via mass email to her office. For those who haven’t, a quick recap:

Jenny takes a series of 33 photos of herself holding a dry erase board, writing a message to her boss “Spencer”, a broker with an unspecified firm. During the messages, she says she quits, has dealt with his temper, spying, bad breath and general morale-killing behavior for two years.

But what was the final straw? She heard him on a transferred call referring to her as a ‘HPOA’…according to that slang staple Urban Dictionary that means ‘Hot Piece of Ass’, or which she quickly discovered.

So, as a goodbye, she logged into the Internet monitoring system her boss installed and checked on his weekly activities: a few hours a week on a trading site, a few more on TechCrunch, and 19.5 on Farmville…a lovely sign off to a hilarious stunt.

But was it a stunt?

Already conspiracy theories about the origination of the emails have begun circulating the internet, with many claiming it is a hoax perpetrated by the same guys who made up the fake story about Donald Trump tipping a guy $10,000 dollars on an $80 check.

We won’t know for a few more days, but news has been promised on the horizon. If it is real, I would like to give a personal congratulations to Jenny for sticking it to the man in the same way so many of us so badly wish we could.
