(CNN) -- Former South African President Nelson Mandela is expected to attend part of Sunday's World Cup championship match on Sunday, a month after a family tragedy at the opening of the games, a member of the local organizing committee said.
Mandela's 13-year-old great-granddaughter was killed in a car accident while returning from the tournament's kick-off concert in June.
The 91-year-old anti-apartheid leader canceled his scheduled appearance at the World Cup opening the following day.
The Netherlands and Spain face off in Sunday's climactic match in Johannesburg.
