The Communist Party of China, the country's ruling party, has launched a bold measure to dispel the veil of secrecy on its operations, and bring more transparency to its governance.
Spokespersons from 11 departments directly under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, the dominant leadership of China, made an unprecedented group appearance with domestic and overseas reporters in Beijing on Wednesday.
The group debut is made one day before the 89th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, which now has more than 78 million members nationwide.
From now on, reporters are expected to shoot their questions at the spokespersons and the information offices of the Party's major departments.
Wang Chen, head of the International Communication Office under the CPC Central Committee, said that the Party's top leadership has paid increasing attention to the information disclosure job of the its affairs at the press conference, according to a Xinhua report.
