McMaster University has six faculties: Engineering, Business, Science, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities. Through these faculties over 130 undergraduate and over 65graduate programs are offered. Details on these programs can be found on our web site atMcMaster University. Residences on McMaster Campus
McMaster boasts many new, modernresidence buildings with complete amenities. Residence is guaranteed for all international and out-of-province high school applicants who receive an offer for full-time studies in a Level 1 Program ("first year") at McMaster, and who meet all of the conditions of their offer including the English language proficiency requirement by August 1. International and out-of-province students who are guaranteed residence admission must also comply with the residence application and deposit deadline of 4:00 p.m., EDT, May 28.
McMaster’s campus includes a new multi-million dollar recreational and sport facilities, theDave Braley Athletic Centre, which includes access to tennis, squash and racquet courts, an Olympic size pool, basketball courts, soccer and football fields, climbing facilities, aerobic and many other physical training facilities. The campus also has the world reknownMcMaster Museum of Art, fourlibraries and many social centres..

Scholarships and Bursaries
At McMaster University, international students who have registered to begin their full time study in an undergraduate programme are eligible to receive the Dean’s Scholarships. It is a discipline based entrance scholarship for foreign students, the amount of the award is up to $2000 .
The applicant must fulfill all the requirements needed to gain entrance into an undergraduate programme at McMaster. Upon registration into an undergraduate programme the applicant will be AUTOMATICALLY considered for the Dean’s Scholarship based on the student's past academic standing and potential for success in the programme.
All international students will be able to compete for the in-course scholarships starting the second year.

McMaster University-Hong Kong Foundation Scholarships
Application deadline: APRIL 1, 2008
These scholarships are open to permanent residents of Hong Kong who have not at any time had citizenship, landed immigrant status or any other claim to residency in Canada or any other country except Hong Kong. Only a student who accepts a McMaster Offer of admission may receive the scholarship.
One scholarship is offered each year to a student entering Level 1 in any first baccalaureate degree program who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement (85% or greater) and a strong potential for future leadership.
Value: $5,000 (Cdn.) annually to a maximum of four years.

Support for International Students
The Office of theInternational Students’ Advisor provides a number of services for international students:
reception and orientation for newly arriving students,
preliminary information on visa and passport renewal and other immigration matters,
campus and community services,
liaison with sponsoring agencies, foreign governments, consulates and embassies.
Faculties
The Faculty also offers two unique five-year programs. The Engineering and Management program combines a regular four-year program in a specific Engineering discipline with the core business courses from a Commerce program. The Engineering and Society program is fashioned after the Engineering and Management program, but instead of business courses, students can choose a set of non-engineering electives.
Faculty of Social Sciences
The Faculty from which Dr. Myron Scholes, recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize for Economics graduated, McMaster’s Faculty of Social Sciences offers degrees in Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Gerontology, Health Studies, Kinesiology, Labour Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Social Work, and Sociology.

English Language Proficiency Requirements
Students from a non-English-Speaking country are required to present proof of English Language Proficiency with their applications for admission. Applicants must have: Achieved a minimum score of 237 on TOEFL CBT, 580 on TOEFL PBT, 86 on TOEFL iBT with a minimum of 20 in each of the four component parts; 85 on MELAB; 6.5 on IELTS; 86 on COPE (minimum 32 in Writing & 22 in Listening and Reading); and 70 on CAEL, or Attended an accredited English medium Secondary School (High School) or Post-Secondary College in full-time academic studies, for at least 3 years, or Attended an accredited English medium University in full-time academic studies for at least 1 year, or Resided in an English speaking country for at least 4 years immediately prior to application to McMaster.
