6.12.01Scope
a) This document covers the inspection procedure pertaining to the fabrication & installation of Field Instrument supports.
b)This procedure shall be applied to the inspection, method and criteria for installation work carried out by CPECC Construction Instrument Department

6.12.03 Material Control
a) All instrument/ support materials - pipes, plates, concrete  fasteners and bolts and nuts shall be inspected upon material receipt at store as accordance with QC manual see III6.0 and sec III9.01
material control system.
B) Check all the materials received are in conformance with purchase order and specification requirements and with test calibrates from supplier
c) Check and inspect all pipes, plates, concrete fastners, volts and nuts are free from mechanical damager.  Any damages and discrepancies recorded and reported immediately to CPECC material procurement Department.  The materials inspections shall be recorded on form ICL - MR - 002
d) Ensure shall materials shall be stored in dust free area and protested against - atmospheric action and dust.  Ensure that the ends of the pipes shall be properly blinded with end caps and stud
6.12.04 Quality control
a)       Prior to removal to site, the support frame, stand (Yoke ) and /on bracket shall be inspected against detailed approved drawing.
b)       Particular attention shall be paid for the correct materials as per specification.
c)       Particular attention shall be paid to the fixing point for correct signing and orientation.
d)       The supports shall be located in accordance with instrument layout drawing.  The precise location shall be finalized in field as nearer as possible to the process tapping points
e)       All rough edges have been removed: the assembly primed and painted on accordance with contract specifications.
f)        Particular attention shall be paid to the following:
1)       The installation shall not obstruct the access ways , exits or passages to the equipment.
2)       For maintenance of the instrument, sufficient clearance shall be maintained in safe manner
3)       The installation shall be positioned to minimize the deleterious effects from hot or clod surfaces, condensate and spillage etc,
4)       The installation of support shall be positioned so that process piping doesn’t pass area the instrument and support
5)       The installation of support shall be checked to ensure the clarion the instrument shall be upon installation, above below as per drawings, with the respect to process tapping, specifications and standards.
The installed support shall be inspected to ensure it is in level, vertical and whole assembly is rigid.  Where supports are installed on pre-cast concrete foundation the fillings shall be checked to ensure they are tight and secure supports bolted to structural steel shall be checked to ensure all bolts etc, correctly installed and securely fixed.  Supports shall not be fixed to hand railings similar and less than entirely rigid structures.  Where supports are to be welded to structural steel, this shall be done prior the application of paint or protective coatings.
G) Each instrument supports shall be checked to ensure that phonetic plastic tag plate is fixed as per specification.
H) The spection shall be recorded on Form CPECC- ICL -
