PowerFlashCard Software Summary

PowerFlashCard is computer software modeled after the right brain based early childhood education theory by Dr. Glenn Doman. It works like flashcards, but loaded with configurable options.
In honor of Dr. Glenn Doman, PowerFlashCard is FREE for parents or organizations who care for brain injured children.
PowerFlashCard supports text-to-voice technology for English US/GB, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Japanese, and Korean. It supports Chinese input and display. (I am yet to find a free Chinese text-to-voice engine)
It is free to try, $35.00US to purchase a copy.

Download and Installation Instruction
Step 1 (Required) - Download and Install Microsoft Agent Software
Visithttp://www.aldostools.com/msagent.html for step-by-step guide on how to downlad and install the Agent software.
Attention: make sure you have double clicked the downloaded software to INSTALL all of them one by one.
Step 2 (Required) - Download and Install PowerFlashCard
Download the newPowerFlashCard Version 5.0.0 for Windows 95/98/Me/XP.
How to install PowerFlashCard
1)Download the software zip file
2)Unzip it into a directory, such as C:\temp\pfc
3)Double click setup.exe in the directory, and follow the instruction to install
Step 3 (Optional) - How to Display Chinese Characters
In Windows Control Panel
1) Select the Languages tab. In Supplemental language support, check Install files for East Asian languages. It may prompt you to insert Windows installation CD. Just follow the instruction.
2) Select Regional and Language Options, select Advance tab, in the pull-down menu for Language for non-Unicode programs, select Chinese(PRC), select Yes for the next question, and select to Restart your computer.
3)Run PowerFlashCard. Now, you should have a EN icon in the task bar or on the desktop. When trying to type in Chinese, click EN icon, then select. In the Read section in PowerFlashCard, start to type in PinYing for Chinese input. When done, click Run.

How to install teaching/learning materials
1)Download the zip files
2)Make subdirectories under the directory that host PowerFlashCard, such as C:\Program Files\PowerFlashCard\Math; C:\Program Files\PowerFlashCard\Reading; C:\Program Files\PowerFlashCard\Picture.
3)Unzip zip files into the respective subdirectory
4)Run PowerFlashCard, select one of the category tabs, click Open. Navigate to the proper directory which the learning material is unzipped, select a file, and Run with it.

Simply download the zipped exe file, and double click the exe file to run the eBook.
Try thePowerFlashCard Utility. It takes a text file, and breaks the text into reading (.rdg) files according to your criteria.
