David Rosas `11 was chosen as a Questbridge Scholar throughthe National College Match Program. He was awarded admission and a full four-year scholarship to attend Pomona College in California. In addition to tuition, room, and board, David's scholarshipalso includes money for books, travel, personal expenses, required

fees, and health insurance (if needed).

Last year, out of 5,830 applicants, 268 (or just under 5%) were awarded the scholarship. Pomona is one of the most selective schools in the country, with an overall acceptance rate of only 16% (more selective than the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Duke, and Berkeley).

 

David Mosley `11 was advanced in the National Merit Scholarship competition for this year. He will be in the running for a Special Scholarship to be awarded for next year at college. This award is sponsored by Siemens Foundation.

 

Wayland currently ranks third in the state of Wisconsin in the Wisconsin Mathematics League competition with a score of 52 points. Only Madison West (55 points) andMarquette University High School (53 points) rank higher than Wayland in the second round. Additionally, four of our students are listed among the 20 highest scoring students in the state: Charlotte Lange `11, Joy Lu `11, Siyi Wang `11, and Jo Zhou `11.   祝贺女儿!
