1937年12月13日，日本侵略者占领中国南京。在日本华中派遣军司令松井石根和第六师团师团长谷寿夫指挥下，日军使用集体枪杀、活埋、刀劈、火烧等惨绝人寰的手段，经６个星期的血腥屠杀，在南京杀害中国平民和被俘军人达３０多万人。南京大屠杀是第二次世界大战中极端残暴的法西斯兽行。抗战胜利后，甲级战犯松井石根被远东国际军事法庭处以绞刑，谷寿夫被引渡给中国政府处死。
